Ambassador Kapunan meets Myanmar SEARCA scholars bound for UPLB

20 July 2017 YANGON – Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Eduardo E. Kapunan Jr. meets with six researchers from Myanmar's Union Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation (MOALI) who were awarded scholarships from the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) to pursue graduate studies at the University of the Philippine – Los Banos. Ambassador Kapunan shared tips in Philippine culture and traditions with the researchers.

The researchers will undergo three-year programs of study in PhD (Plant Breeding), PhD (Environmental Science), PhD (Entomology), and MSc (Plant Breeding) respectively. The MOALI Permanent Secretary, the highest career official of the Ministry, is also an alumnus of UP Los Banos under a SEARCA Scholarship.
