The Department of Agriculture-Biotechnology Program Office (DA-BPO) and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture-Biotechnology Information Center (SEARCA-BIC) will hold the Joint Department Circular No. 1 s2016, Round Table Discussion (JDC RTD) with the media tomorrow.
The JDC RTD aims to provide factual information on how biotechnology products are regulated in the Philippines.
"As gatekeepers of information and credible sources of news, we would like to present to you (the media) the framework used by government in evaluating biotechnology products in the pipeline," the DA said.
"We feel that all stakeholders should have a clear understanding of existing government policies as we continuously inform the public about biotechnology," it added.
An open forum addressing questions and concerns will be held during the discussion.
